Brasil

First of all is an "s". Not a "z".

Doesn't make a lot of difference but since we made in to the headlines worldwide is good to make it clear. Brasil. Not Brazil.

Brasil for Dummies starts with that. Lesson one.

One other thing: Rio de Janeiro is not the capital city of Brasil. It was for sometime though.
Brasilia is our capital. Lula "works" there.
Main city is Sao Paulo. Everyone that comes to Brasil for business stops there first.
Huge city. Rich. Caotic traffic. No beach.

My will to write this blog comes from many years of watching investors doing their road shows in Brasil, trying to get a deal to invest their money in our economy.
Many of them go back to their countries empty handed: did not find a concrete deal or got ripped of. Most likely the second one.
Brasil is a tough place to do business. Mostly because of our short time vision, a side effect of many years of hiperinflation, when people needed to care more about tomorrow than the years ahead.
Our long term vision is still growing up.

That migh bring a lot of miss comunication between investors and Brazilian entrepeneurs.
Some times foreigns have a bad time trying to understand our ways of doing business. How we get to know someone better before doing business together... timing...this kind of things.

I hope I can answer to some of the questions regarding our brasilian business protocols help investors willing to bet on Brasil.

Welcome to Brasil!
